When talking about computer maintenance, people are inclined to neglect the hard disk probably. As a matter of fact, the disks are quite fragile. Any dust or improper temperature can cause unexpected damage to them. In this article, you can learn some disk errors produced by operation mistakes or system problems.
Hard disk works normally and running speed is improved greatly after you scan computer thoroughly. But such situation can not last for a long time since the disks are troubled with errors again. Besides scanning disk, what can you do to solve this problem? There is no any bad track in the hard disks, why does it always pop up disk errors?
Do not worry. I would like to tell you how to fix disk errors correctly--the common disk errors and the solutions.
First, the computer reminds you that "drive failure run setup utility and express F1 to resume". Such problem is caused by incorrect disk parameter settings. So you can use floppy disk to lead the hard disk and reset disk parameter so as to get rid of this error.
Second, the computer is displaying "no ROM basic in the system halted". The problem should blame for broken leading programs or affected system. Or some marks in the partitions have been juggled. In order to handle this disk error, you can start up floppy disk and perform the order of "f disk/m b r". And everything will go back to normal track again. The working theory is that "f disk" contains the main code of leading program. By using such order, the correct program and code can cover those in the hard disk. This is the quick and clever step to fix this problem.
Third, it reminds you that "error loading operating system" or "missing operating system". It should be blamed for dos boot record error. The record is situated in the logical 0 sector and produced by high-level formatting order of "format". After checking partition table correctly, the program reads dos boot record according to the original address of dos partition. If it fails to do that five times continuously, the system reminds you that "error loading operating system".
And if it succeeds, the booting program will send the record to 0:7c00h of memory and check the last two bytes of boot record are 55aah or not. If not, you can see the prompt of "missing operation system". Well, under such circumstance, you have to turn to certain specific software to help you fix the errors. Or, you can try to format disks but have to shoulder the risk of losing data.
Fourth, it displays "invalid drive specification". You can format partitions again. If there is any malfunction in the disk partition, formatting disk is the basic measure to solve such problem. But at the same time, all the information in the partition is deleted completely without question.
In order to fix disk errors and protect your computer as well, you should follow the principle that high-level formatting should be the priority, then partition formatting and low-level formatting comes last.
To be frankly, the number of hard disk errors is far from the ones mentioned above. If you really want to protect hard disk, you cannot be too careful to use computer correctly.
