Pedal Cars Help Your Child Develop Great Motor Skills
Motor skills are developed in children through repeatedly engaging in physical activities that require using more then one sense and movement at a time. This can only be achieved with physical movement. This helps children gain control over their movements, helps them to learn anticipatory results, postural control, and how one action affects another action. Utilizing pedal cars as part of your child’s play and exercise will help your toddler build great motor skills.
Learning motor skills requires using both mental and physical action. Riding a pedal car also requires both mental and physical action. Mentally your child is developing skills in drive and persistence. Thy learn that by turning the steering one way will make them go in that direction but only by pedaling at the same time also developing coordination skills. They also learn that when they get stuck they have to come up with a new plan of action to reverse the situation. This is great for developing a healthy attention span as well as problem solving skills. When your child plays on pedal cars, they develop their senses of curiosity and the desire to master their new skill. Pedal cars are great food for the toddler’s brain.
Physically a toddler has to move in order to make the pedal car move resulting in many great benefits for your child such as:
