ATVs means All Terrain vehicle, it is a vehicle which is used for entertainment. According to American National Standards Institute (ANSI), it is vehicle that has low pressure tires, with handlebars for steering control and a seat which is straddled by an operator. Although it has four wheels but it is operated like a motorcycle. The four wheels are provided to give extra stability. In some ATVs you will find 6 wheels but these ATVs are designed for special applications. At present, the engine size of the ATVs ranges from 49 to 1,000 cc.
ATVs were launched, for the first time in 1970. ATV comes in both 2 stroke engines and 4 stroke engines. In 2 stroke engine, you will find lower end torque due to which it requires more maintenance. On the other hand 4 stroke engines has higher end torque and due to that it requires less maintenance in comparison to 2 stroke engine. 4 stroke engines have more life than 2 stroke engines. In ATV, you will find 2 separate shocks which are provided to maintain the balance of the vehicle when one tire ends up in a deeper hole than the other. These 2 separate shocks are called progressive dual arm shock. Sometimes, independent shocks are also used for a comfortable ride. In most of the ATVs you will find a Single cylinder 4 speed – automatic transmission. Most of the ATVs are equipped with Hydraulic Disc Brake System. This brake system is best for stopping the vehicle, easy to clean and easy to replace. This brake system is not like the manual drum.

- Maximum Torque (N/M/rpm) – Can Pull Med/Large adult.

- Start – Electric start with a set of keys.
- Transmission – Semi-automatic / No hand clutch.
- Dimensions (LXWXH) – 57†X 31†X 45.
- Seat Height – 28â€.
- Weight capacity – 350 LBS.
- Tires – 19 x 7 – 8 Rear: 19 x 10 – 8.
- Brakes – Front Drum, Rear Drum.
- Top Speed – 35-45 MPH.
- Suspension – Front Dual Independent Suspension – Rear mono shock.
- Full capacity – 5.5 L.
- Noise – Very, very quiet 35db.
- Colors – Red, blue, black, yellow, green.
- Safety Features – Kill switch, speed restrictor, headlight and extra large brake for fast stopping.

In ATV, safety is an important issue. All-terrain Vehicle Safety Institute was formed in the year of 1988, for providing training and education to ATV riders. The fee of this institute is normal and can be afforded by any people. The new buyers of ATV can take this training and education free of cost. But the buyers should come in correct age/size guidelines. Completion of safety training class is necessary for every minor-age children before driving it.

It functions as a hydraulic transformer that takes in water at one hydraulic head (pressure) and flowrate, and outputs water at a higher hydraulichead and lower flowrate. The device utilizes the water hammer effect to develop pressure that allows a portion of the input water that powers the pump to be lifted to a point higher than where the water originally started. The hydraulic ram is sometimes used in remote areas, where there is both a source of lowhead hydropower, and a need for pumping water to a destination higher in elevation than the source. In this situation, the ram is often useful, since it requires no outside source of power other than the kinetic energy of water.
